PRDC TRUST to give all poor and rural communities the right tools and knowledge to help themselves. The focus is on comprehensive and inclusive health, education and livelihood training to promote sustainable economic wellbeing, equality and basic human rights for all, regardless of gender, age and ability. The PRDC Trust is committed to serve the rural community by promoting innovative solutions and advocate for collective responsibilities. It facilitates lasting solutions by:
• Providing quality and value education for the poor children
• Strengthening the capacity of women self help groups (SHGs) by innovatively, promoting Women Owned and Managed Mutual Benefit Trust.
Launching diversified income generation activities for the rural people
Researching on the Nilgiris Tribal’s the age old ‘healing system’
Influencing policy decisions at district, state and national levels through proper network systems.
Still, the PRDC Trust had to cross several hurdles on its mission such as high illiteracy rate in the district, girl-child discrimination, high rate of school dropouts, and poor quality of education, insufficient income, low staff-student ratios in government schools, usage of corporal punishment, inadequate basic facilities, and a general lack of value for education amongst the rural folks.
